GREENBRAE, CA — The Marin Healthcare District has hired a full-time Chief Financial Officer to the management team that will be responsible for running Marin General Hospital when Sutter Health departs June 29, 2010. District CEO Lee Domanico announced today that David W. Cox, an experienced healthcare system CFO, will join the Marin Healthcare District management team full-time after serving as a consultant to the District for several months. Cox has served as a CFO for several major healthcare systems since leaving his position as a US Air Force Captain in 1982.
A graduate of Loyola Marymount University, with an MBA from University of Dayton, Cox has held finance and management positions with many healthcare related businesses during his career, including Sutter Health (1982 - 1996), Fletcher Allen Health Care, and St Mary’s Health System in Waterbury CT. Most recently, he was both the Chief Operating Officer and the Chief Financial Officer for Townsend Health in Florida.
“We’re fortunate to have someone with David’s skills and experience join our management team as we prepare to take control of Marin General Hospital following Sutter Health’s departure June 29, 2010, said Marin Healthcare District CEO Lee Domanico. “We’ve benefited enormously from David’s expertise and energy in recent months, and we know he’ll be a key executive on the management team we’re putting together. Cox will also oversee the IT issues for the District and serve as the liaison to The District’s IT vendor, ACS. The District is installing a new computer system for the hospital as required by the Settlement and Transfer Agreements.
