Homeward Bound of Marin-Mill Street Center (MSC)

The point of entry to Homeward Bound’s Adult Services Program. Mill Street Center is a year- round emergency shelter for individuals experiencing homelessness in Marin County with a robust array of housing-focused services to help people secure stable housing. Mill Street accommodates 55 people per night in a dormitory-style setting. Staff supports residents wishing to end their homelessness with around-the-clock counseling. As space becomes available, committed residents ‘graduate’ to New Beginnings Center.

Seniors At Home Care (JFCS) Management/Counseling Services

Care Management starts with a comprehensive assessment to examine your mental, physical, social, and financial needs. Care managers can provide everything from ongoing services to a short-term senior care consultation to address aging and long-term planning issues. In Marin County, JFCS administers a state-wide voluntary care management program called Multipurpose Senior Services Program (MSSP) that assists very low-income nursing home eligible seniors to live independently in their home. JFCS offers a wide range of counseling services for seniors, family caregivers, and others in need of psychological support including the BOOST program to help seniors who suffer from mild to moderate depression. Family

Homeward Bound of Marin: Family Center

The point of entry to Homeward Bound’s Family Services Program, the 9-room Family Center offers emergency shelter to families with children aged 0 to 18 years. Each family occupies a private room and shares communal space including kitchen, bathrooms, playroom and living room. Services include counseling, meal support, help with job and housing search, homework club, outings and enrichment activities, and access to Head Start child care. As space becomes available, families may be referred to Homeward Bound’s transitional or permanent supportive housing programs. Homeward of Marin is a zero-tolerance agency. Family Center charges a nominal fee for services.
