Dr. Raghupathy is an interventional cardiologist who specializes in invasive cardiology procedures such as angioplasty and stenting of blood vessels. He has additional experience and training in structural heart interventions and peripheral vascular disease. As a member of the Structural Heart Team, Dr. Raghupathy has a special interest in treating patients with advanced valvular heart conditions like aortic stenosis, using minimally invasive procedures such as transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). He also performs procedures to close the left atrial appendage in patients with atrial fibrillation who are not able to safely take anticoagulation.
In addition to performing these procedures, Dr. Raghupathy also understands the value of disease prevention for all patients. In his practice, he emphasizes the use of proper diet, lifestyle and medication to reduce cardiac risk. He has a particular interest in screening for novel risk factors in patients of South Asian origin, as well as collaborating with the South Asian Heart Center to reduce the burden of heart disease in this high risk population.
